Some really groovy smart people have hired me to teach RomCom writing. Usually a 10-week class at different levels, I do a review of story structure that helps you get where you’re going. And I also cover a lot of the things that make romcoms work and not work. It’s much like a writers group but I’m there cheerleading it. Stop by their site and check it out!

UcLA Extension Writers Program

At various times during the year, I can be found warbling on about how to structure a pilot for the good people at UCLA Extension. They absolutely wonderful f you’re looking to do a certificate program in this kind of thing, so if you don’t take from me, do check out their offerings. Some taught online some taught in person!

University of British Columbia

I got my masters at the Optional-Residency Creative Writing Program at UBC. And I am honored to teach there. It’s a graduate program that requires you to work in more than just the genre you want to pursue. I specialized in screenwriting, but I learned an enormous amount about dialogue from the poetry classes, and action writing from graphic novel classes and truth from writing creative non-fiction. It’s a program I can’t recommend highly enough.
